Les Derniers d’entre Iels is a pre-apocalyptic photographic ode to the torments of a sensitive and militant generation in a world in upheaval. In this series I take a critical look, finely nuanced between optimistic and pessimistic perspectives, at a Manichean society sclerotised by the vicissitudes of its own progress, seemingly in the twilight of its existence. I set my friends and acquaintances from my LGBTQI+ community in apocalyptic settings enhanced with AI inlays. A technique that creates a break between fiction and reality.

These grandiloquent atmospheres end up taking precedence over the model itself and question the Earth’s capacity for resilience, which is reflected in the detailed photos. The latter focus on elements that evoke resistance, such as cracks or, on the contrary, a piece of wire mesh weaving a link between two disjointed walls in a poetic discourse that conveys hope.

Les Derniers d’entre Iels is a tribute to the video game and TV series The Last of Us, which helped me to fight my daily anxieties linked to the current ecological and social crises and to try to accept our intrinsic fragility in the face of the immutable grandeur of the universe.
